La dernière version de la distribution Mandriva (2007) étant sortie il y a quelques jours, les Membres du Club Standard ont eu la surprise de ne pas avoir accés aux packages permettant d’utiliser le fameux bureau 3D.

En effet, selon le type d’adhésion, les accés aux .iso ne sont pas les mêmes:

Les Membres Standard peuvent accèder à la version immédiatement antérieure du PowerPack ainsi qu’à l’édition Download à l’avance. Nouveau : les Membres Standard peuvent également télécharger les 4 images ISO de l’Edition Club spéciale.

Concrêtement, la distribution Powerpack contient 6 CDs, dont les 4 premiers téléchargeables par tous les membres (dont les Standards), et pour avoir les CDs 5 et 6 (ou le DVD), il faut être minimum Membre Sylver.

Malheureusement, lors de l’étape de construction des disques, le paquet task-3ddesktop a été placé par erreur dans le CD5. Or, ce paquet est essentiel pour faire fonctionner le bureau 3D et quand vous activez drak3d, celui ci se plaint de ne pas pouvoir l’installer.

Pour résoudre ce problème, l’éditeur a commencé par donner accés aux packages manquant, en passant par les mirroirs permettant de les télécharger sur internet.

Cela consiste juste à rajouter une source officielle dans le gestionnaire de programmes:

  • Cliquez sur le Menu étoile de votre bureau.
  • Allez dans Système > Configuration > Paquetages > “Install, Remove & Update packages”
  • Cliquez sur “Sélectionner la source de téléchargement …”
  • Cliquez sur “Ajouter …”
  • Cliquez sur “Sources pour la distribution” si vous n’avez aucun média appelé “Main Updates”
  • Cliquez “oui” quand il vous demande de se connecter à Internet, il va aller chercher une liste de sites web contenant la mise à jour
  • Choisissez un miroir proche dans la liste proposée
  • Cliquez OK

C’est donc au final une bonne affaire pour les Membres Standard, qui peuvent dés lors acquerir le Powerpack complet pour le même prix.

Problèmes liés aux téléchargement

Nous vous avons parlé dans un article précédent des problèmes liés aux téléchargements des images ISO.

La méthode préconisée par l’éditeur reste BitTorrent, qui au final est la plus efficace.

Un paramétrage du réseau est aussi nécessaire, notamment s’il on utilise un routeur / firewall.

Il s’agit également de patience, puisqu’aprés quelques minutes de téléchargement, le débit augmente de manière significative.

Un espace a d’ailleurs été ouvert à ce sujet sur le forum du club.

Un accés aux téléchargements direct par HTTP via Jussieu est toujours d’actualité, mais ce dernier souffre en terme de débit. (initialement à 100KB/s, le débit est tombé à 50KB/s)
